About the Event
Lent
This year, March 5th marks a very important season in the life of the church around the world. Lent is the forty-day period (not counting Sundays) of fasting and prayer leading up to Easter. Dating all the way back to the 4th century, Lent is a time of intentional reflection in the life of the church. Using the 40 days Jesus spent fasting in the wilderness as a reference point, Lent is a time for believers to reflect on the life, ministry and suffering of Jesus. Doing so, allows Christ-followers to take an intimate, personal inventory of their own faith walk and better prepare their hearts to remember the passion of Christ and the power and joy of His Resurrection. Some choose to “give something up” during these 40 days as a reminder of how much Jesus gave up for them. Others may take time to fast periodically in order…
